Papers in Korea and
papercraft Artist Sun Ock Bong

Pattern

First of all, when doing Hanji crafts, we use only paper.

That is why patterns are made of paper only. It is said that pattern are very important in papercrafts.

First, draw the pattern on the Hanji and then cut it out with a knife.

Second, fold the Hanji several times and cut with a pair of scissors. Remember how you did it in school days?

For example, this is how you do the pattern seen on the picture at your right. It's very simple.

1. Glue red paper over a white Hanji (we've already explained above that the white hanji needs to be ready for use).
2. Write something on blue paper and then cut it.
3. The blue paper letter is glued on the red paper.

Based on the above, try innovating and applying these methods in your own way.
